Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Breon McIntosh, 35, of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of his wife, Andricka McIntosh, 35.

On August 4, 2023, at approximately 7:53 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a construction site in the 6000 block of Gunston Street for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers observed the victim unresponsive, lying in the roadway, and the defendant standing near the victim with a handgun. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Defendant McIntosh was taken into custody at the scene.

It is alleged that on August 4, 2023, Defendant McIntosh and the victim were separated and had a verbal argument. The argument escalated and he produced and fired a handgun multiple times at the Ms. McIntosh, fatally wounding her.

Breon McIntosh has been charged with Premeditated First-Degree Murder and Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail on August 6, 2023, in 36th District Court before Magistrate Malaika Ramsey-Heath. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 14, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 21, 2023, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Kenneth King. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.

"The alleged facts in this case are an egregious example of what domestic violence looks like. The death of Andricka McIntosh is the eighth domestic violence homicide this year and, very unfortunately, there will be more. This cannot be said enough, the most dangerous time in the life of a domestic violence victim is when they are trying to leave the relationship," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
