Corrected Copy - Detroit Man Charged In Kidnapping Of Three-Year-Old Boy
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Michael Lee Grayson, 19 (DOB:12/13/1996), of Detroit, with one count of Kidnapping – Child Enticement and one count of Unlawful Driving Away an Automobile. On October 20, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant kidnapped his girlfriend’s three-year-old boy from a location in the 19300 block of Winston and drove away in a car. An Amber Alert was issued and Detroit police officers found the child unharmed in a car parked outside of an abandoned house in the 19300 block of Biltmore. Investigation by the Transit Police led to the arrest of Grayson on a DDOT bus at East Seven Mile and Ryan Road.
Michael Grayson was arraigned at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon before Magistrate Dawn White. The probable cause conference is scheduled for October 28, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for November 3, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Shannon Holmes in 36th District Court. Grayson receive a $750,000 cash/surety bond.
