Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Marquise Cromer, 21 (DOB: 06/19/1995), in connection with the non-fatal shooting of his father, Sterling Cromer. On September 11, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m. in his home located in the 2100 block of Dickerson in Detroit, victim Sterling Cromer was eating at the dining room table. It is alleged that while he was seated, Defendant Marquise Cromer, his son, pointed and fired a shotgun, striking the victim's feet. The victim was able to exit the home and fled to a neighbor's home. He was arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court before Magistrate Millicent Sherman. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 20, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Deborah Langston in 36th District Court.
