Keith Appling - A warrant request was received yesterday at 2:00 p.m. regarding an alleged incident involving Appling that occurred in Dearborn on May 2, 2016. The warrant is currently being reviewed. It is unclear at this time if a decision will be made in the case today. An update will be sent out when a decision has been made.
Mateen Cleaves - Ms. Dena Altheide, Director of Court Operations (810) 257-3181 for the 67th District Court indicated on Friday, April 29, 2016 that the Probable Cause Conference in case scheduled for May 3, 2016 was adjourned by the court at the request of the defense. At this time we have not receive a new date from the court. An update will be sent out when a new date is received.

Bernard Hardrick - Sentencing date change. The defendant was convicted in a real estate scheme where he would take money from unsuspecting buyers by selling them property he obtained with fraudulent quit claim deeds. His sentencing date was moved from Friday, May 6, 2016, to Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 9:00AM before Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway.

Prosecutor Charges Former MSU Basketball Player with Weapons Charge
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Keith Appling, 24 (DOB: 2/13/92), of Detroit, with Carrying a Concealed Weapon (a five year felony), Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle (a two year misdemeanor) and Possession of Marijuana (a one year misdemeanor). Appling is a former Michigan State basketball player, currently playing in the NBA.
On May 1, 2016 at approximately 6:47 p.m., Dearborn police officers were dispatched to a club in the 12900 block of Michigan Avenue because security observed a man pulling a firearm out of the trunk of a car in the parking lot. The police observed a car in the parking lot matching the description given by security and approached Keith Appling, who was in the driver's seat of the car. As a result of the police search of the car, it is alleged that Appling had a handgun under the driver's seat, a small amount of suspected marijuana inside the car and a loaded weapon in the trunk. Appling was placed under arrest at the scene.
Appling was arraigned this afternoon in 19th District Court in Dearborn. The probable cause conference is scheduled for May 6, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Hultgren. The defendant received a $5,000 personal bond.

Bernard Hardrick - The defendant was convicted in a real estate scheme where he would take money from unsuspecting buyers by selling them property he obtained with fraudulent quit claim deeds. He was sentenced today to 25 to 45 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections on all counts. Judge Michael Hathaway made payment of restitution a condition of parole.

Keith Appling - Former MSU basketball player charged with possession of weapons and marijuana. Appling had his probable cause conference today and his preliminary examination has been scheduled for June 24, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge William Hultgren.
