Elaina Brown and Kelly Williams - CPS Workers charged in connection with the death of three year-old Aaron Minor. The cases are scheduled for preliminary examination on December 19 and 20, 2016 before Judge Kenneth King.

Christopher Olinger & Asia Markham - Defendants charged in connection with the death of Markham’s 16-month-old daughter in Hamtramck. Today the preliminary examination was adjourned until December 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in 31st District Court. The defense requested the adjournment because the medical examiner’s report was not ready.

Montez Sistrunk - Defendant charged in connection with leaving his children in the car at the Motor City Casino. Today the sentencing was rescheduled by Judge Mark Slavens until December 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

Charles Cahill - Defendant charged in connection with July 27, 2016 drunk driving collision that killed 12 year-old Victoria Mack in Sumpter Township. Today Cahill pled guilty as charged to Second Degree Murder, Operating with High BAC Causing Death, Operating with Suspended License Causing Death, OUIL - Third Offense, and Open Intoxicants in Vehicle. Sentencing is scheduled for January 13, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Bruce Morrow.

Prosecutor Worthy Charges Two in Robbery and Shooting

Yesterday Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy charged Linton Richey, 33, (DOB: 03/02/1983), and Pierre Wilson, 28, (DOB: 11/03/1988), both of Inkster, in connection with the robbery of a 25-year-old female and a 23-year-old male. During the robbery, the 23 year-old male was shot.

On November 19, 2016, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Detroit police officers responded to 20000 block of Yonka in Detroit where they discovered a 23-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. A 25-year-old female was also present and informed the police that the two had just been robbed.

Richey and Wilson have been charged with two counts of Armed Robbery (Maximum penalty - Life in prison), one count of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder (Maximum penalty - Life in prison), one count of Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder (Maximum penalty - 10 years), six counts of Felony Firearm (Maximum penalty - two years), and Carrying a Firearm with Unlawful Intent (Maximum penalty - five years). Wilson is also charged with Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer (Maximum penalty - five years).

The two defendants were arraigned yesterday in 36th District Court. Richey received a $350,000 cash/surety bond; Wilson received a $250,000 cash/surety bond. Both defendants will have their probable cause conference in on November 29, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. and their preliminary examination in December 16, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

Jovan Boykins, Sr. - Defendant charged in connection with a July 2016 sexual assault of a Detroit woman on Foley Street in Detroit. Boykins was sentenced today to seven to 20 years on Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, with conditions of lifetime electronic monitoring and sex offender registration.

Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Shooting of Officer Collin Rose

Prosecutor Worthy has charged DeAngelo Lamar Davis, 31 (DOB:6/2/1985), of Detroit in connection with the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Wayne State Police Officer Collin Rose.

On November 22, 2016 at 6:30 p.m., Officer Rose conducted a traffic investigation of Davis who was riding a bicycle in the area of Lincoln and Brainard in Detroit. Officer Rose called for back up at 6:31 p.m. while he was attempting to take Davis into custody. Shortly thereafter, it is alleged that Davis shot Officer Rose in the head and fled on foot from the scene. A Wayne State police officer arrived at the scene at approximately 6:34 p. m. and transported Officer Rose to Detroit Receiving Hospital. Officer Rose was treated and later expired from the wound. Davis was apprehended by the police several hours later and taken into custody.

Davis has been charged with First Degree Murder, Felony Firearm, Murder of a Police Officer, Felony Firearm, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.*

Prosecutor Worthy said, "Universally, Officer Rose was respected, admired, and one that had an excellent work ethic. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Officer Rose. All of us at the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office grieve along with the Wayne State University community and the law enforcement community. This case strongly illustrates the dangers that police officers face every minute of every day."

The defendant was arraigned and remanded to jail today. His probable cause hearing is on December 9th at 8:30 a.m. and his preliminary examination is on December 16th at 1:30 p.m. at 36th District Court in Detroit.

*The charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
