Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Woman
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Andrew James Hall, 31, of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Lisa Moffett, 40, of Royal Oak.
On July 11, 2023, at approximately 5:50 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a building in the 300 block of West McNichols for a discovery of a lifeless body of a woman. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim at the rear of the building, deceased, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
It is alleged that Defendant Hall stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife before fleeing the scene. The defendant was arrested by the Dearborn police and turned over to officers from the Detroit Police Department later the same day.
Andrew James Hall has been charged with First Degree Murder. *
He was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 25, 2023, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 1, 2023, before Judge Kenneth King. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
"The evidence in this case will show that Andrew Hall is an extremely dangerous person. He allegedly killed the victim in this case for no reason at all, simply because he wanted to," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
