Detroit Man Charged In Homicide Of Woman Reported Missing In 2015
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Jerry W. McCoy, 46 (DOB: 8/17/69), of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Deann Louise Robinson, 20, of Detroit. Ms. Robinson was reported missing by her family on January 3, 2015. On February 26, 2016, as a result of the investigation by the Detroit Police Department, the body of the victim was discovered and McCoy was identified as the suspect in her homicide.
The defendant and the victim had known each other for several months prior to her death. It is alleged that on January 1, 2015, the defendant picked up Ms. Robinson and took her to his house in the 9600 block of Sorrento, strangled her to death, and removed her body to a location in the 2700 block of Sturtevant.
McCoy has been charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder. He was arraigned in 34th District Court in Romulus on Saturday, March 5, 2016. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for March 15, 2016 and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for March 22, 2016 in 36th District Court.
