Flat Rock Man Charged in Huron Township Homicide
On August 6, 2022, at approximately 3:05 a.m., police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 20340 block of Wahrman Road in Huron Township for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim with gunshot wounds to his left arm and left abdomen. Medics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
It is alleged that Defendant Colon produced and fired a handgun, fatally wounding Mr. Torres, before fleeing the scene. The defendant turned himself into the Huron Township Police Department later the same day. Further facts and evidence will be presented in court at the Preliminary Examination.
Jaylin Julius Colon has been charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and one count of Felony Firearm. *
He was arraigned this afternoon in 34th District Court and given a $100,000 cash/surety bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 17, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., before Judge Tina Green. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Huron Township Police Department.
