Lincoln Park Man Charged in Norman Street Homicide
On December 23, 2021, at approximately 11:02 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2610 block of Norman Street in Detroit for a reported hit and run. While in route, the call was upgraded to a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim in the street, suffering from trauma to the head and body. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
It is alleged that the victim was standing next to the defendant's car when a verbal altercation escalated, and Defendant Faraj produced and fired a handgun, fatally wounding Mr. Gregg. It is further alleged that the defendant ran the victim over with his car before fleeing the scene.
Fadi Moussa Faraj has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Felon in Possession, and two counts of Felony Firearm. *
He was arraigned and remanded to jail on July 18, 2022, in 36th District Court before Magistrate Joseph Boyer. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 1, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 8, 2022, at 1:45 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
