Man Arraigned In Southgate Double Homicide
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Antoine Terrail Beck, 33 (DOB: 1/10/82) in connection with the homicides of a Southgate woman and her son. Beck was acquainted with Courtney Marie Durr, 28, and was residing in her apartment in the 14500 block of Northline Road in Southgate. On June 6, 2015, it is alleged that Beck killed Ms. Durr and her 10-year-old son, Sumari Keon Das, in their apartment. It is further alleged that Beck stole Ms. Durr's personal property, some money and fled the scene in her car. On June 7, 2015, a family member discovered the lifeless bodies inside the apartment and notified Southgate police officers, who were dispatched to the scene. On June 8, 2015, a Southgate detective arrested and transported Beck to the Southgate Police Department.
Beck has been charged with two counts of First Degree Murder, Larceny in a Building and Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile. He was arraigned today in 28th District Court in Southgate. Beck's probable cause hearing is on June 12, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. and his Preliminary Examination will be held on June 27, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in 27th District Court in Wyandotte because there is no judge available on that date in Southgate.
