Walter Treon Jennings - Defendant charged in the First Degree Murder of Reserve Highland Park Officer Roderick Jones that occurred near Opyum Lounge on 8 Mile Road in Detroit. The preliminary examination was held and the defendant was bound over as charged to Circuit Court. His Arraignment on the Information is scheduled for March 9, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.

Erin Justice - Defendant charged in connection with the homicide of Alicia Marie Fox. The defendant appeared before Judge Shannon Holmes this morning for a competency hearing. The forensic center reports were not completed. The next court date for the competency hearing is April 7, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.
Andrew Jackson - Defendant charged with carjacking and robbing a woman at gunpoint with her grandchildren present. Today his preliminary examination was held and he was bound over. His arraignment on the information will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office independent investigation relating to the arrest and apprehension of Jackson by the A.C.T.I.O.N. task force is continuing.

Two Men Charged in Multiple Non-Fatal Shootings on Chalmers
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Marcus Perkins, 24 (DOB: 5/12/1990), and Aaron Matthews, 24 (DOB: 4/20/1990), both of Detroit, in connection with a multiple shooting that took place in the 9800 block of Chalmers. On March 1, 2015 at approximately 4:14 a.m., it is alleged that Perkins and Matthews got into a dispute with people attending a party at the Chalmers Community Center and that Perkins and Matthews fired multiple shots into a group of the partygoers, striking several of them. It is further alleged that Matthews attempted to rob one person during this incident. Further, it is alleged that after leaving the Community Center, Matthews attempted to carjack the vehicle of a person at the Fountain of Truth Church and that during the attempted carjacking, he shot the driver of the vehicle as she drove away.
Perkins is charged with four counts of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and one count of Felony Firearm. Matthews is charged with two counts of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, one count of Robbery, one count Attempted Carjacking, one count Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and one count of Felony Firearm.
"This senseless mayhem that is occurring in our streets and business establishments simply cannot and will not be tolerated. The alleged facts in this case are a microcosm of the inexplicable violence that we neither need nor want in Detroit or any other Wayne County community," said Prosecutor Worthy.
Perkins and Matthews are expected to be arraigned tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in 36th District Court.

Raymone Jackson and Raphael Hearn - Today the jury returned verdicts of guilty as charged in the cases against Defendants Raymone Jackson and Raphael Hearn in the fatal shooting of a twoyear-old infant girl and non-fatal shootings of a 13-year old female and a 26-year-old male. Jackson was found guilty of First Degree Murder, Torture, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Firearm. Hearn was found guilty of First Degree Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Firearm. The sentence date is March 24, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Ulysses Boykin.
