Three Detroiters Charged in Human Trafficking of a Minor

Today Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Eric Alexander Brown, 33 (DOB: 09/09/1984), Brian Deshawn Ash, 26 (DOB: 08/30/1991) and Grace Nyirahabimana, 18, (DOB: 01/01/2000), all of Detroit, in connection with the human trafficking of a minor victim.

The minor is a 14-year-old female victim from Detroit. It is alleged that the three defendants acted together, using the victim in human trafficking in Detroit between January 16, 2018 and January 26, 2018. More detailed facts will be introduced as evidence at the preliminary examination. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendants.

All three defendants were arraigned on the warrant this morning in 36th District Court. The probable cause conferences for all defendants are scheduled for February 21, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examinations are scheduled for February 26, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Lydia Nance-Adams in 36th District Court. Defendant Brown was remanded; Defendant Ash received a $1 Million cash/surety bond; Defendant Nyirahabimana received a $250,000 cash/surety bond.
