Press Release - September 27, 2018 - Warrant Denied Against Former Grosse Pointe Park Officer
Warrant Denial for Allegations Against
Former Grosse Pointe Park Police Officer
Assistant Prosecutor Maria Miller said: "On July 18, 2018, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office received a warrant request for a former Grosse Pointe Park police officer regarding allegations of Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree that occurred between October, 1999 and November, 1999, with a 16-year-old female complainant. The complaint was filed with the City of Grosse Pointe Police Department on December 11, 2017, and referred to the Michigan State Police to investigate. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office denied the warrant because it is barred by the statute of limitations. This decision has been made solely based upon the law and not on the merits of the allegations."
