Rockwood Man Charged in Assault of Girlfriend
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Brandon Mitchell Kolc, 29, of Rockwood, MI, in connection with the assault of a 27-year-old Inkster woman.
On November 28, 2023, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Michigan State Police Troopers were dispatched to a rest area off of westbound I-94 in Van Buren Township for a reported assault. Upon their arrival, officers observed the victim suffering from multiple wounds to her face and neck. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
It is alleged that a verbal altercation between the defendant and victim escalated, and Defendant Kolc punched and strangled the victim, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Michigan State Police led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.
Brandon Mitchell Kolc has been charged with Aggravated Domestic Violence.*
He was arraigned this morning in 34th District Court and given a $100,000 cash bond with a GPS tether. His Pretrial is scheduled for December 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., before Judge Brian Oakley. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Michigan State Police.
