Alternate Payment Options

Pay online at https://pta.waynecounty.com

  1. Under the "Tax Payment Options" choose "Pay Taxes Online".
  2. Go towards the bottom of the page and click on "Enter Site".
  3. Click on "Accept Disclaimer"
  4. Enter your property address or parcel ID number and then click on "Search Database" (If your parcel is in the City of Detroit and your parcel ID number doesn't register, put a period at the end of the number).
  5. Click on "Pay Now".
  6. Choose the tax year(s) you wish to pay and click "Continue".
  7. A message stating "You are leaving Wayne County's website and transferring to Chase's secure website" will appear. Click on "OK".
  8. A new window will open with Chase's website. If you have already registered, enter your User ID and password and click on "Log In". If not you can either click on "Register" or "Pay Without Registering". The advantage to registering is that you will not have to enter your personal information every time you make an online payment.
  9. You are now transferred to a page that gives you the payment options:
    1. "eCheck" is the free method of payment, you will have to enter your bank routing number and your account number, choose "Checking" or "Savings" and then click on "Continue".
    2. If using a credit card/debit card you will be assessed a 2.49% fee from Chase for using their website. You will be prompted to enter your card number. Once completed, hit continue. If you are not a registered user, you will have to enter your personal information at this point.
  10. Check the amount in the PAYMENT DETAILS section, the system will default to the total amount owed. Click in the field and enter the amount you wish to pay.
  11. Finalize your payment and print your confirmation. If you wish to receive a receipt, you can go back to the website and request one within 72 hours, or you can send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the address below:

Press menu option 1 and continue to follow the steps as provided by the operator. Please have your parcel ID number available.

You will be prompted to create a password the first time you inquire about your parcel. Your information will be saved for future payments.

* You will be given a confirmation number at the end of the call, if you wish to receive a receipt, one will be available on the website within 72 hours (www.treasurer.waynecounty.com), or you can send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the address below.

Pay by Mail

Make all payments payable to Wayne County Treasurer. Please be sure to note your parcel ID number and property address on the Cashier's Check or Money Order and mail your payment to the address below: If you require a receipt, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment and a receipt will be mailed to you.

*Personal checks are accepted for 2015 tax year only. All other payments by mail must be certified funds.

*A Drop Box is also available on 1st floor of the address below.
