Dearborn Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Mother
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Abrahim Hassan Alfagieh, 36, of Dearborn, in connection with the homicide of Jamila Alwan, 70, also of Dearborn. The victim is the mother of the defendant.
On December 15, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Dearborn police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 7800 block of Reuter Street for a reported stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers observed Ms. Alwan in the upstairs bedroom of the home, suffering from a stab wound to the neck. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
It is alleged that Defendant Alfagieh fatally stabbed the victim with a knife. After the attack, the defendant called 911.
Abrahim Hassan Alfagieh has been charged with First-Degree Premeditated Murder.*
He was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 19th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for December 23, 2024, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for December 30, 2024, before Judge Eugene Hunt.
