Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Detroit police officer James Clark Davis III, 27, in connection with the theft of multiple shoes from his fellow Detroit police officers.

It is alleged that between September 4, 2024, and January 9, 2025, at the Detroit Police Department Downtown Services location in the 20 block of Atwater Street, Officer Davis stole multiple pairs of sneakers from a shared DPD locker room.

James Clark Davis III, has been charged with three counts of Larceny in a Building and one count of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property - $200 to $1,000.*

He was arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court and given a $25,000 personal bond. He was ordered not to have contact with the Detroit Police Department Downtown Services and the victims on the case. He cannot leave Michigan without permission of the Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 8, 2025, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 15, 2025, before Judge Marlena Taylor.
