On July 18, 2024, in the early morning hours Redford police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 18700 block of Seminole in for a reported assault. Upon their arrival, officers observed Defendant Jensen fleeing the scene.

Vincent James Jensen has been charged with Assault with Intent to Rob While Armed, Extortion, Fleeing and Eluding Third Degree and five counts of Felony Firearm.*

"The alleged facts in this case are extremely troubling and show strong disregard of the safety of a community. A man who assaulted a man, drove at excessive speeds through a residential neighborhood to evade the police, and barricaded himself with threats to kill. A trifecta of criminal behavior," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

He was arraigned and remanded to jail today in 17th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 30, 2024, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Karen Khalil. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Redford Police Department.
