Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Alec Nicholas Thieman 28, of Delta, Ohio, in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a 46-year-old man, of Romulus. The defendant is employed by the Transportation Security Administration.

On June 12, 2024, at approximately 6:40 a.m., while driving northbound on I-275 Freeway near Pennsylvania Road in Huron Township, it is alleged that Defendant Thieman produced and fired a handgun, striking the victim's vehicle. The victim did not sustain gunshot wounds in the shooting.

Alec Nicholas Thieman has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, Felonious Assault, Reckless Driving, Commission of a Felony with a Motor Vehicle, and three counts of Felony Firearm.*

He was arraigned this morning in 34th District Court and given a $250,000 cash bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 26, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., before Judge Lisa Martin. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Michigan State Police.
